报告题目:High Energy Sub-nanosecond Kilohertz Amplified Laser Sources near 1 µm

报告摘要:

    This report is focused on the design of diode-pumped amplifiers, which can provide a combination of high gain and high efficiency with high stability, while preserving the pulse duration, spatial quality and linear polarization of the beams without the need of cryogenic cooling. Taking advantage of the recent progress in 20% duty cycle quasi-CW pump diodes, single-mode single-frequency sub-nanosecond laser pulse can be easily scaled up to 50-100 mJ range at ~1 kHz repetition rate. Similar architectures of the power application stages could be utilized successfully in the case of low power picosecond-burst input in order to obtain high average power, kW bursts of picosecond pulses at a kilohertz repetition rate.

报告人简介:

    Ivan Buchvarov now is a professor from Sofia University, Bulgaria and ITMO University, Russia. He has more than 20 years of experience in the development of solid-state laser systems at numerous places, e.g. Northwestern University, Evanston, USA , Boston College, USA, Max Born Institute, Berlin, Germany;. Technical University Munich, Germany; the Institute of Laser Technology at Sofia University, Laser Center at IFMO – St. Petersburg, Russia; ELETTRA Synchrotron facility, Trieste, Italy. Resaerch is focused on ultrashort laser pulse generation and characterization in various spectral regions (UV, VIS, NIR and Mid-IR), Ultrafast Phenomena in Molecular Systems & Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy; Nonlinear Optical Phenomena & Solid State Laser Engineering; Instrumentation development & Laser Applications. Leadership in industrial innovation: development of innovative laser instruments and modules for ALPHALAS GmbH, Germany; Deltronic Crystal Industries Inc.USA, Also started up 2 companies-successfully developed scientific equipments for numerous R&D institutions and universities in Germany, Italy, India, China.
